How To Use Carpet Steam Cleaners

When you purchase or rent carpet steam cleaners you must know how to use them so that they are able to provide you with the best and most efficient cleaning for your carpets. Though there are different models they all work in much the same way. Just make sure that you have the necessary attachments and cleaning solution for the model that you are using.

You will want to start by taking out all of the furniture in the room and vacuuming the entire area. This will help to remove the loose dirt on the surface of the carpet and give your steam cleaner the chance to focus more on the bottom surface.

All of the stains need to be pre-treated with a carpet stain remover. Work the stain remover into the carpet and leave it on there. You don’t have to vacuum it up.

Take out the water canister and filling it up the line with how water from the tap. Add the proper cleaning solution that will work with the steam cleaner you are using. If you use the wrong soap it will create large amounts of soap suds in the machine. It is possible to clean the carpets with just hot water – but the soap will add more strength to remove those stains. Replace the water canister when you are finished.

Start in the farthest corner of the room away from the doorway and work your way backwards and forwards in a slow manner. As you push forward you will release the soap and water into the carpet. As you pull backwards you are allowing the rotating brushes to dig deep down and pick up the dirt. Do the entire carpet in small sections.

You might find that your carpet is so dirty that you will have to change the water out several times for one carpet. This is normal and should be done when the water inside is black and filthy.

When you are finished let the carpet dry completely before you replace the furniture or allow people to walk on it.
