Steam cleaners are great to use when you are trying to clean your carpets and hardwood floors. They help to remove stains and dirt and to keep your home looking clean and smelling fresh. What most people don’t know is that they are useful at steaming your clothes.
Dry cleaning has to be used on our nice suits and dresses – but it can be such a hassle. Most places will overcharge you and you might not even have the time to drop them off or pick them up when you need them. Save money and time and do it yourself.
Fill your steam cleaner with water up to the fill line. Do not go over this point or you might have a big mess on your hands.
Depending on how large or small the clothes are will depend on what type of attachment you want to use. Try to use one that you think is going to work the best.
Plug the steam cleaner in and turn it on. Wait a few minutes to let the water warm up to the right temperature. You need it to be hot enough to be effective.
Hand the shirt, pants, or dress on a hanger and place it on a door knob or on your shower curtain rod – whichever is easiest for you. Hold the hose or attachment six inches away from the clothes.
If the wrinkles did not come out in a good time period than you might need to shake them out a bit first. Try to steam them again for a few minutes and see if that worked better.
